Manley Mansion at dusk, the starting point of the scenic drive
Getting Here & Out

The Scenic Drive

One day, one loop: an Elizabethan hall, a Cistercian abbey, a Michelin star, a Norman keep and Pendle Hill, every stop within about twenty minutes of the gates.

Route map · 6 stops · times from the estate

Manley Mansion sits in Hapton, right on Junction 8 of the M65, which means the Ribble Valley's best day out starts the moment you leave the gates. The estate stands at the meeting point of four landscapes: the Forest of Bowland National Landscape, Pendle Hill, the Ribble Valley and the South Pennines. The loop below strings the highlights into one unhurried day, countryside all the way, with a proper lunch in the middle, and it returns you to a private spa wing, a 180-inch cinema and dinner for your whole group by evening.

The map is interactive: tap a numbered stop for what it is and how far it is from the house. The dashed line is a suggested direction of travel, not turn-by-turn navigation; every stop links to directions for the satnav.
